Robot is a teacher
Teachers never get angry and scold students who are being welcomed by Korean schools.
These 'teachers' are fun Korean students favorite
English teaching robots have been piloted in three schools for eight weeks, since December. Electronic devices that simulate robots to teach math, science and art have been applied in 10 universities in Seoul since November.
To date, the research team has found that English language robots help to raise the interest of students and make them feel more confident. These robots are remotely controlled by an English teacher and equipped with a microphone and a camera. They have speech recognition software to interact with students.
The Korean government wants to bring robots to rural areas so that students have more learning opportunities. "These machines evoke creativity and influence students," a government official said. Experts in the project are improving the quality of teaching robotics and eliminating program errors before deploying this model extensively.
