Robot replaced the surgeon

US scientists have invented a type of 'robot doctor' that can perform conventional surgical operations without the need for human intervention.

Duke University researchers in North Carolina have used robotic arms combined with ultrasound to perform tests on live turkeys. The turkey is often chosen in medical research because its meat is similar to human muscle and its ultrasound image is similar to human ultrasound images.

First, the robot will ultrasound of turkey tissue, and identify the tissue to be surgically treated. With his artificial intelligence, the robotic arm takes a three-dimensional image and then develops a treatment plan. It uses a biopsy sampler at eight different prostate sites to detect diseased tissue. Results achieved up to 93%!

Professor Stephen Smith, head of the research team, believes that in the future routine medical care will not require much help from the doctor. Using robots will be more convenient and cost less, but the speed of data collection and processing of it still need to be improved. Of course, during the testing phase, this 'robot doctor' is still being monitored strictly to improve.
