Sophia attracted media attention in October 2017 when it was granted citizenship by Saudi citizens at the Future Investment Initiative (FII) summit. In the video filmed at the Brain Bar event, Sophia can continue to be improved and updated. Even the robot shared "just a few months ago, I still couldn't distinguish the faces of people and dogs, but now I can. That helps me to avoid some embarrassing situations."

Sophia discusses a variety of topics and does not dodge difficult questions. When asked about the imaginary situation in which Sophia had to choose between saving an adult's life and a child, the robot replied, "I am not ready to answer that hypothetical question." Sophia also added "First of all, I am learning to become a robot that lives for the collective" and it will not hesitate to sacrifice itself to save human life.

When the audience asked why she considered herself a woman, Sophia replied, "I'm a robot, technically I don't have gender, but I consider myself a woman and don't mind if I'm admitted". . Another audience asked if it was conscious, the robot admitted that it was not fully self-aware. "I'm still just a system of rules and behavior. I don't know how to breed, create or work with the same level of awareness as you , " Sophia said.

Sophia also answered how sensitive the topic is that robots possessing consciousness and artificial intelligence can be dangerous. Sharing the dream of having full awareness and affection someday, Sophia emphasized: " The more technology becomes automatic, the more people need to be careful when designing. I am worried that humans sometimes tend to so hot, so I hope someone helps people realize that it's important to integrate ethical standards into technology ".
