The tiny Japanese robot has been on the ISS since August 10, and has recently broadcast the first message from space, according to AFP.
"On August 21, 2013, a robot has taken a small step towards a brighter future for all humanity," said Kirobo. Good morning to everyone on Earth. This is Kirobo. I am the world's first talking astronaut robot. Nice to know you guys.
Kirobo is 34cm tall and weighs about 1kg.
According to team leader Yorichika Nishijima, Russia is the first country to conquer space, the United States is the first country to land on the moon, and Japan is the first to send astronauts into space, as a companion with people.
