Robots help older people and people with disabilities buy goods
A girl controls a robot guide at Diamond City Lucle
A robot designed to help older people and people with disabilities buy goods was introduced at Diamond City Lucle commercial complex in Kasuya, Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan, February 9.
The robot is 1.7m high, manufactured by Tmsuk and NTT Communications. The robot is connected to the Internet via a wireless LAN system, which is used by robots to locate and move by reading IC beetles assembled in the floor. Customers select the stalls they want on the tactile screen of robots and robots to escort them to the location. The robot also has a built-in chamber for storing goods.
Robots also have a remote control function that allows customers to sit in front of their computers at home to see which store they have. Customers can request the camera to shoot with the camera installed inside and talk to the salesman.
