On November 7, Director of the Russian Space Agency (Roskosmos) Anatoli Perminov said the Russian and Chinese project for moon exploration cooperation will be carried out in 2010-2011.

Perminov is currently visiting China as part of a Russian delegation's visit led by Russian Deputy Minister Alexandre Joukov.

According to Mr. Peminov, these two powers are expected to launch an unmanned spacecraft flying around the Moon, landing on the planet, taking pictures and collecting soil samples. Spacecraft will be coordinated by China and Russia from Chinese territory.

The Russian and Chinese program for collaborative moon exploration is one of the parts of the wide-area research program.
