Russia makes devices to warn of traffic accidents

Russian experts have announced the invention of a warning device for driving a car accident.

This "Driver Assist" device detects potential hazards on the road and alerts potential collisions.

"Driver Assist" is a combination of a camcorder and a microprocessor, the same size as a DVR and mounted on a car's rearview mirror.

During the ride, the camera records the images and transmits them to the computer. Images are converted to black-and-white mode to recognize reflected images.

Then analyze the collected information, distinguish the silhouette of people and vehicles, determine the speed and direction of the objects are present in the vicinity of the car with the device.

If the motion section of the object intersects with the "Driver Assist" section , it will generate a warning. This device also reminds the driver if there are pedestrians on the road near the vehicle mounted equipment.

The whole process of data processing takes only a few seconds. Signal warning will be given as "pedestrians on the left" or "on the right".

The voice alarm system is specially recorded to drive the car without distracting because the pictures on the screen show the traffic on the road.

In addition, the warning screen also places dangerous places for large music rides or hearing impaired drivers. On the screen there is a diagram depicting the car and around it will outline the hidden danger range marked by color.

Currently, the "Driver Assist" system developer has made the prototype of the device and will put it to the test in the near future.

Inventors will then receive feedback on the system, additional modifications, and mass production. Estimated accident warning equipment, effective assistant of each Russian driver, cost only about 280 USD, lower than the competing models of foreign.
