Russian Selenokhod Robot
There are currently 26 out of 30 teams from all over the world registering to participate in the Lunar Tourism Robot Manufacturing Competition.
Under the conditions of the competition, the participating robots were forced to travel less than 500 meters above the surface of the Earth's satellite and collect data, the process of moving, and then transmit images to Earth.
Russian robot named Selenokhod, is expected to be completed next summer.
In place of the famous Lunokhod Lunar-rider self-propelled car, the Selenokhod is equipped with a sliding-step mechanism, which moves itself using a special sliding plate.
Future Selenokhod weighs 5kg, but when coming to the Moon under small gravity, this robot is even lighter.
According to information from the organizer, the winning team in the Google Lunar X-Prize competition will receive $ 20 million out of a total of $ 30 million of the Google prize fund.
