Russian companies use AI robots to recruit human replacement personnel
Robots and AI are revolutionizing the industry, even replacing recruitment professionals who preside over HR interviews.
A Russian start-up called Stafory has created a new AI robot model called Vera . The main requirement and task of this robot model is to interview candidates for big companies. Vera can screen and email an interview notice to more than 1,500 applicants every day.
Although only created since 2016, Vera has a pretty impressive list of customers, including companies like PepsiCo and L'Oréal.
Stafory co-founder Alexei Kostarev shared with The Washington Post: "We want to create something that functions in the same way Uber recruited jobs. Currently, we are working with 200 companies to taking advantage of Vera's power, this means our robots are conducting about 50,000 interviews every day ".
Vera robot can screen and email an interview notice to more than 1,500 candidates every day.
According to Interesting Engineering, the benefits from using Vera robots in recruitment activities are quite obvious, including a reduction of one-third of the time and recruitment costs compared to normal. Vera is fluent in both English and Russian and is very suitable to recruit office workers.
Vera's recruitment process takes place as follows:
Vera robot is connected to 5 different recruitment websites, where Vera can scan each profile, application of each individual.
When companies want to recruit new positions, they provide Vera with a detailed job description and various scenarios and questions of an interview. The robot will then use this information to find potential and qualified candidates.
If a suitable candidate is found, Vera can call to invite them to the interview. Kostarev revealed: "When you answer the phone, Vera will say 'Hello, my name is Vera and I'm a robot. Are you looking for a job?".
If the candidate answered yes, Vera will begin conducting the interview directly by phone or video call. An interview usually lasts about 8 minutes.
So far, Vera has received a lot of positive feedback. Last year, beverage company PepsiCo recruited 250 new employees in Russia in just 2 months thanks to Vera.
Currently Vera rate can correctly answer candidates' questions reached 82%.
Most employers and managers appreciate Vera by saving resources, especially the rate of finding suitable candidates by high robots is equal to human-run recruiting, while it only takes 1/5 of the time compared to normal.
The candidates after participating in the interview with Vera proved very excited and interested in the new interview technology.
In the future, creators, Vera also consider adopting this robot in receiving negative feedback from employees. Partly because the staff will be easier to say straight to a robot machine.
Currently Vera rate can correctly answer candidates' questions reached 82%. Still, there are areas where robots cannot replace people, such as recruiting leadership and running a company. Kostarev shares, people will be more appropriate in cases that require careful consideration.
