See the beautiful Greenland, but it can soon be lost forever
These days Greenland's name is mentioned quite a lot: where US President Donald Trump wants to buy, where the warning of climate change is happening at an alarming rate .
Greenland is the world's largest island with 82% of its surface is ice, which is also an important part of the world's ocean system. Scientists estimate the global sea level could rise to 7m if all the ice in Greenland melted.

"Greenland affects the whole planet. One billion tons of ice lost here will cause sea level rise in Australia, Southeast Asia, America, Europe" - oceanographer Josh Willis of the US Aerospace Agency (NASA) recently warned.
According to research by the Danish Meteorological Institute, Greenland lost only 197 billion tons of ice in July, the largest recorded in history. Especially on August 1 alone, Greenland Ice was estimated to have melted 12.5 billion tons, the highest figure in nearly 100 years.
With this development, in the near future, Greenland with towering glaciers, vast "ice carpets" will be no more. This means that the beauty of the island will disappear.
The authors Albert and Violeta Draseikaitė recently shared a photo of Greenland's wild beauty with a warning if people do not preserve it, if companies keep sending tourists to Greenland . It will not be far away from this beautiful island "dying".

Greenland is hot not only because of the rising temperatures, but also because of too many tourist boats - (Image: Albert).
According to the authors, only this summer, 40 cruise ships visited the small town of Ilulissat on the west coast of Greenland - (Photo: Albert).
"When we were there for 12 days this summer, I saw 6 different ships coming and going. One of them carried 3,500 passengers and 900 crew. The whole town of Ilulissat had only nearly 5,000 people. The ship has nearly doubled the "population" of the town, the authors write - (Image: Albert)
