Scientists at the University of California, Berkeley, for the first time created a self-patching material that is directed through an ion stream called the Wolverine.
Transparent Wolverine material , which can stretch 50 times its initial size or self-heal within 24 hours at room temperature if cut off. This material is cheap, can be used in battery manufacturing, electronics and robotics, India Express said on 26/12.
"For years, the production of such a full-featured material has been a headache for us, and now its potential is only well-researched." Said Chao Wang, a professor at the University of California.
Wang is inspired by the Wolverine character in the X-Men science fiction manga. Wolverine has the ability to heal itself even if it hits the head. The study was published in the December issue of Advanced Materials.
