A group of researchers in Australia has successfully developed a special substance that can be injected into wounds to heal them in seconds.

This gel is expected to work well in traffic accidents, both for skin wounds and deep inside.

The gel works similar to a sealant in a bathroom that is often used for tiling, but is made from natural elastomers.

"You just need to inject the gel into the site of the wound, use light to shine through it, and everything will resume itself in a matter of seconds," said chemistry professor Anthony Weiss of the University of Sydney.

The university collaborates with Harvard University and schools in the Northeast United States to develop a prototype version of this gel, and is now hoping to directly test it on humans.

Professor Weiss thinks this gel has a very high potential for application, whether it is a lung wound or a blood vessel.

The research team said the new invention helps replace traditional stitching methods and helps treat wounds in difficult-to-reach locations.

The natural elasticity of the gel allows the wound to remain elastic, especially the heart, lung and arterial wounds.

"The gel works stably throughout the time the wound needs to heal, then disappears without leaving any chemical toxins. This gel has all the versatility and efficiency that The surgical connections need to be available, " said Professor Ali Khademhosseini of Harvard Medical School.

The study has just been published in the Science Translational Medicine journal.
