Seafarers in Queensland, Australia are being warned to leave the waters because officials fear a 6-meter giant shark is scouring the coast.

The anxiety rose after it was discovered that a 3 m white shark was tattered with two large pieces of cut flesh. Experts believe that the animal was bitten to death by an even larger carnivore.

Warning seafarers leave the waters of Stradbroke Island, north of Brisbane. " Anything that attacks and loses such a large piece of shark meat must be horrible, " said Ashton Smith, a 19-year-old tourist. " I heard that a giant shark is hiding out there ."

Australia is entering the summer, when sharks attack people by increasing the number of seafarers. The crowded beaches here are protected by nets and traps. But there is no guarantee that sharks cannot pass through.
