Simulation

Before mass production, people often carefully tested new drugs on animals and humans, which increased research costs.

A scientist at the University of Huddersfield (England), Dr. Hamid Merchant hopes to solve this problem with "intestinal simulation".

The simulation tool includes a combination of solvent chamber and pH probe and controller. By monitoring changes in the pH of the solvent, the researchers observed and evaluated the drug absorbed in the stomach, small intestine . depending on the acidity and alkalinity of the digestive tract.

Levels can be fine-tuned by users to mimic different ways of absorbing one person to another.

Gizmag magazine said that the simulated intestinal prototype was used by pharmaceutical companies to check oral medicines.
