Singapore presents the first e-book
With the first electronic book, Singapore has raised the reading culture in this country to a new 'class' , inheriting from the reading culture from traditional paper books.
Singapore "unveiled" the first e-book
On November 15, Singaporean telecommunications company (SingTel) announced the first e-book service called Skoob written by Singaporean and foreign writers as well as educational and educational guidebooks for elementary and middle school students.
The service has beaten more than 39,000 of the world's best-selling books for mobile phones, tablets and desktops. This service accepts payments in Singapore dollars and saves more money than traditional paper books. For example: John Grisham's 'Confession' book sells for S $ 9 while the copy-book is priced at S $ 17 at the bookstore .
Skoob also has some free downloadable books like Arthur Conan Doyle's 'Sherlock Holmes Adventures' or Charles Dicken's 'Story of Two Cities' .
Skoob eBooks are valuable on Apple products and Android smartphones and apps with free application support. It can run on desktops as well. Customers can download books up to 5 devices. Payment via Singapore dollar credit card. In addition, customers can choose to buy with a monthly bill.
