'We are researching new ways for technology to help people with neurological health problems. The potential of technology in reducing or even preventing depression in humans is huge , ' Livescience quoted David Mohr, a medical expert at Northwestern University in the US.

Some smart phones today are equipped with up to 35-40 sensors, many of which are capable of monitoring the daily activities of users. For example, the phone can use global positioning and contacts to identify the owner who is in your company, home or home; use a speedometer to see how fast the owner launches the car; count the number of e-mails, call to assess the level of employer communication

By analyzing the behavior, a software for smart phones in the future - called Mobilyze ! - Can assess the mood of the user. If the software concludes that the owner is feeling lonely, the phone will suggest that you visit somewhere or gather with friends.

'Through urging people to take actions that are fun or exciting, we believe Mobilyze! will help phone users scare away the negative mood. With it the cost of treating depression syndrome, depression is much lower than many traditional therapies , 'Mohr said.

In an 8-week trial for 7 adults with depression in 2011, Mohr and colleagues found Mobilyze! reduces the level of depression of all subjects studied. The group of test participants also confirmed the software to help them recognize and adjust negative thoughts and behaviors.

The team is trying to create Mobilyze software version! for mobile devices using the Android operating system.

'From March we will start testing software with Android-based devices. We hope large-scale testing will actually take place at some point this summer , 'Mohr said.
