Currently, the Korean government is using smartphones as a tool to track people suspected of being infected with MERS.
Smartphone used by Korea in the fight against MERS
It is known that every hour passed, Korea is struggling with an outbreak of respiratory syndrome originating from the Middle East called MERS.
Besides the isolation of sick people, the government has decided to apply technology to the fight against MERS, as well as to reduce the risk of spreading the disease seriously.
Accordingly, those suspected of being infected with the MERS epidemic in Korea will be monitored through handheld devices such as smartphones, to ensure that they do not leave the home and infect others.
The Deputy Prime Minister said that this was an " inevitable measure " and provided some evidence to emphasize his warnings.
Because last month, a man broke the quarantine round and flew to China. Therefore, it is necessary to control these patients, before it is too late to stop the MERS pandemic .
However, this also caused quite a lot of conflicting opinions in Korea, when many people believe that tracking patients through smartphones will lose their privacy.
In response to these comments, the Korean government representative also affirmed that, until people suspected of being infected with MERS are considered healthy, they will no longer be monitored .
