Passengers traveling from areas with MERS outbreaks entering Vietnam must make a medical declaration at the border gates.

Since May 20, when South Korea announced the MERS epidemic, Vietnam has urgently applied surveillance measures with medical declarations and body temperature gauges at all border gates, while promoting training, communication for people to raise awareness.

The director of the Preventive Medicine Department said that over the past few days, even when the MERS epidemic in Korea tended to settle down, the Ministry of Health continued to monitor and continue to promote epidemic prevention activities, not whether to lower the level of prevention or neglect.

The application of medical declarations to passengers traveling from epidemic regions including the Middle East and South Korea is still underway with an estimated 4,000 sheets per day.

" Many people think that the health sector seems to be overly worried. However, I affirmed that all measures of the health sector over the past time have been aimed at preventing intrusion or if any, will be detected , manage and isolate immediately not to spread to the community.
