Special masks to help deaf people communicate during the epidemic season

Reading oral palms during the epidemic season becomes difficult when people wear masks during translation, but Indonesian tailors have found a perfect solution.

It is a transparent mask .

A couple on the island of Sulawesi started producing cloth masks with transparent plastic in the middle to help the hearing impaired.

"Since the epidemic began, everyone was wearing a mask. For the hearing impaired, we can not understand other people are saying because we can not say a picture of them. There is a lot of misunderstanding" , Faizah Badaruddin said.

Badaruddin and her husband often make mattresses, sheets and curtains for customers.

As orders faded during the season, Badaruddin began looking for instructional videos online to make masks for the hearing impaired.

Since April, the couple has completed more than two dozen masks throughout the day in small, medium and large sizes.

Each one costs from 10,000-15,000 rupiah (15-23 thousand dong).
