Start the car with a laser instead of a spark plug
Romanian and Japanese researchers have designed a laser that can start a combustion engine more efficiently than existing spark plugs with the ability to burn a fuel mixture at multiple points within a cylinder.
Telegraph 25/4 said that a team of Romanian and Japanese researchers designed a laser device that can start a combustion engine more efficiently than a spark plug now with the ability to burn multiple fuel at multiple points within the cylinder. linen.

The spark plugs were created 150 years ago, the main function being to burn the gas-fuel mixture and transfer the heat from the combustion chamber. However, spark plugs are prone to wear and tear after a period of use, and spark points are unpredictable.
Takunori Taira of the National Institute of Natural Sciences in Okazki, Japan, said earlier that lasers were limited to basic research because they were large, ineffective, unstable but new sizes and shapes of lasers. Similar to the spark plug, it is also placed in a ceramic casing so it can survive better in the high temperature environment of the internal combustion engine.
Taira also said that the laser will ignite more accurately and be hotter than spark plugs, and that burning rapidly is important because it saves fuel.
The study will be presented at the Conference on Laser and Electro-Optics in Baltimore, US next month. The researchers plan to collaborate with Denso, an international car maker, to develop the technology.
