The statue depicts an unusually chubby woman, originating around 8,000–8,500 years BC, of the Neolithic era.

The statue is 17cm long, weighs a kilogram, and is made of marble. The excavation team found it on the ground along with volcanic rocks.

The statue's head shape, hair style, hands under the chest and the statue's unique small feet indicate that this is a typical product of the Catalhoyuk people . However, it attracted attention because of its intact shape and cleverly crafted details.

Catalhoyuk is one of the earliest human settlements in the world. There are many important evidences that show the transition from settling villages to urban megacities.
