Yunnan and Sichuan, China, where the Mosuo tribe lives, have unique sex customs, where, when girls reach the age of updating, parents hand over their house keys to their children to choose their partners until you see someone like it, then get married.

Mosuo is an ancient Buddhist tribe in Yunnan Province , a valley in southwestern China, near the eastern foothills of the Himalayas. The people here are matriarchal, meaning men are not respected, and women are the head of the family. Both men and women are allowed to have as many partners as they need without worrying about being judged by society.

Mosuo girls of the legal age are allowed to choose a comfortable partner.

In this tribe, there are no fathers, husbands or boyfriends living together. Instead, when a girl thinks of growing up, her mother gives her a key to her own house. From then on, she could begin to invite her lover into the bedroom at night. This arrangement, known as a marriage, could last or last for only one night. During marriages, men will visit women's homes at their invitation, and spend the night in the 'flower room' , take a day off and return to their home. Couples do not live together and the children are also brought up completely by the mother's family, brothers and uncles still having the role of his father.

In Mosuo, women own and inherit property, land, raising and caring for children. Men work hard like plowing, building, repairing houses, slaughtering cattle, making decisions of 'patriarchs' and taking care of their grandchildren.

Although the number of tribes today is decreasing, the records of Mosuo lasting at least 750 BC show that the tribe's land was formerly named nu kuo, or the kingdom of women. The Mosuo have a population of about 40,000 and for centuries they have lived only on the shores of Lake Lugu - the border between Sichuan Province - Yunnan (China) and the surrounding mountains.

Mosuo women mainly live on weaving.

They live together in picturesque villages with rustic wooden roofs. At 2,700 m above sea level, the nearest city is only 6 hours by car, Lugu Lake is a remote area, so the unique customs of the Mosuo people are preserved.

Since the 1990s, the Mosuo tribe has undergone many changes. Tourists come here and many investors make roads, airports, build hotels, create jobs for the Mosuo people, making the tribal traditional way of life gradually lost among young people. The girls started to marry the foreigners, living with their husbands and sons, instead of just staying at their mother's home as before.
