Strange fasting fish to hatch eggs in the mouth

A fish commonly found in waters off Malaysia has a way of hatching eggs in the mouth. The strange thing is that not all females, but males, will carry all the eggs in their mouths to incubate for weeks.

Male fish take this task very seriously, so they can't even eat anything until their children hatch.

"Normally, the female will release an egg wrap near the selected male. After the male fertilizes the egg, it will suck the eggs into the mouth and hatch the eggs until the eggs hatch into fish. The male will not be able to eat during the incubation process , 'said Mat Yie.

Although male fish do not eat during incubation, some scientific studies have found that up to 30% of eggs float into the male's abdomen during incubation. This is why this fish is called carnivorous fish.

Some other animals, like frogs, also hatch their babies in their mouths. But this is often the habit of fish, and is often undertaken by the fish.
