Strange objects invade the Solar System to... build a new planet?
New US research shows that interstellar objects like the asteroid Oumuamua or comet 2I/Borisov contribute greatly to the formation of planets.
New US research shows that interstellar objects like the asteroid Oumuamua or comet 2I/Borisov contribute greatly to the formation of planets.
That's the rather shocking conclusion from the work led by the Space Telescope Science Institute in Baltimore, Maryland (USA). Calculations show that every 10 million years, the number of foreign objects entering the Solar System from interstellar space can reach 600 billion. We rarely see them, simply because human's spatial observation is limited.

Speaking to New Scientist, Dr. Amaya Moro-Martin, one of the study's lead authors, said they were surprised themselves when the cosmological models they had built based on multiple sets of observational and theoretical data. Astronomical theory shows this strange thing.
Before that, another study in August 2021 once confirmed that there are more than 100 trillion strange objects wandering between stars that are "wandering" to penetrate outside the Oort cloud - the wall at the edge of the system. Sun.
According to the Daily Mail, new research shows that these objects could have formed from gas and dust in another star system, or formed in the vast space between star systems in the Milky Way galaxy. They enter star systems very frequently and contribute greatly to the material that forms young planets.
This explains how spectroscopic measurements of extrasolar objects show that different star systems share many similar components. In other words, when a star system of planets like our own formed, a lot of extraterrestrial material contributed and sometimes included the "seeds" of life - contributing supports the theory that life came from interstellar space.
There are two most recently discovered interstellar objects, the asteroid Oumuamua or comet 2I/Borisov, both detected by composition different from those existing in the Solar System, in which Oumuamua even is suspected by scientists from Harvard University (USA) as a technological product of aliens.
