While waiting for the official solution to this story, let's "take a walk" along Ca Ty River to understand more why this river is a peaceful river region for Phan Thiet fishermen.

1. The river has been renamed

For example, the water flowing in the river is usually fresh water, but the water flowing in the Ca Ty River is brackish water, sometimes salty with a taste of the sea.

Or, whenever it rains upstream, the fish and shrimp in the river seem to be "drunk" , sometimes floating on the water's surface.

These strange things make many people wonder, "Weird. Why is this so strange?" . Over time, "Ky Ta" was read backwards as "Ca Ty" because of that.

2. The largest river in Binh Thuan province

Ca Ty River originates from the Nui Ong range, which is over 1,300 meters high. This river is the confluence of two main rivers, the Ta Da River and the Mong River.

When flowing through Muong Man commune (Ham Thuan Nam district, Binh Thuan), Ca Ty turns Southeast, flows through the center of Phan Thiet city and then goes a few more kilometers to Con Cha beach (Phan Thiet bay).

Ca Ty is one of the largest rivers in Binh Thuan province. The river is 65 km long, the basin area is up to 754 square km.

Currently, Ca Ty River not only plays an important role in providing water for daily life, agricultural production, and transportation but is also a tourist attraction in the province.

For the people of Phan Thiet city, the peaceful Ca Ty river is also their great "regulating river", soothing the heat of the South Central region every summer.

3. The river has 300 years of history

In the memories and hearts of the people of Phan Thiet in particular and Binh Thuan in general, Ca Ty river is the place where many generations have spent their peaceful and beautiful childhood.

The river is a testament to the ups and downs and development of Phan Thiet city over 300 years of history.

Therefore, local people here still remember the unique cultural beauty associated with Ca Ty Giang such as Nghinh Ong Festival, traditional boat racing festival, lantern releasing festival or fireworks display every Tet holiday. Spring comes.

As for Nghinh Ong Festival in Phan Thiet, it usually takes place every 2 years (on even-numbered solar years) during the last week of the 7th lunar month. This festival originates from the culture of worshiping Quan Cong of the Chinese people in Phan Thiet, starting in 1778.

The traditional boat racing festival in Phan Thiet has bold characteristics of coastal people. Every time the nation's traditional New Year takes place, the people here organize this unique festival, both to preserve the identity passed down from their ancestors and to show the spirit of solidarity and resilient strength. The toughness of a fisherman, ready to go out to sea for a prosperous and fulfilling life.

It can be said that Ca Ty River is a destination for many people to "live slower" in the heart of the bustling, dynamic city. This seemingly opposing combination is the most attractive feature for foreign visitors when mentioning Phan Thiet.
