Study the new giant balloon

Humans have created a variety of transport vehicles such as ships, cars, aircraft and spacecraft. But they can not carry bulky goods conveniently to places without roads, rivers, airports and railways, the Economist said Oct. 1.
Helicopters arrive at such places, but the amount of cargo they can carry is not much. So Skylifter, an Australian company, came up with the idea of producing a new, disk-like transport vehicle to take goods to distant and inaccessible places.
The vehicle is a flying saucer. It has a diameter of 150 m and is capable of transporting 150 tons of cargo. The best transport helicopters currently can only carry a maximum of 20 tons. The new vehicle can pass nearly 2,000 km. The flying saucer shape minimizes the impact of wind. When landing it will act like a parachute so the goods will not be damaged.
Skylifter has just made a miniature version of ' flying saucer ' - with a diameter of 3 m - and called it Betty . Remote controlled, Betty can transport more than 0.5 kg of goods.
As planned, Skylifter will produce a 150 m diameter version over the next three years. If everything goes according to plan, the flying saucer will be able to transport a building to distant places. Even entrepreneurs with bold ideas can buy them to put their hotels up in the air, making their hotels fly.
