Supercomputer simulation ... the world's strongest human brain

Scientists in the UK have just introduced the world's largest 'brain' as a supercomputer with millions of processors and 1,200 circuit boards connected to each other like the human brain.

To complete this supercomputer, scientists spent 10 years designing and installing. This is also the super computer that works like the world's largest human brain. The name of this supercomputer is SpiNNaker . Currently this supercomputer is located at the University of Manchester.

Supercomputers by British scientists have broken every record to become a supercomputer that can simulate the operation as the first human brain in the world.

'The birth of this supercomputer will probably make the world rethink how a conventional computer works. Its task is to create simulations of neurons. It can simulate more neurons in real time than any other computer available in the world , 'said Steve Furber, professor of computer engineering at Manchester University.

Previously, in April 2016, SpiNNaker was initially built with 500,000 processors. However, it was later upgraded to double that capacity. With the support of the European Union's Human Brain Research Project in building a machine brain, SpiNNaker will be a very powerful support tool for future researchers. Currently this supercomputer has been able to perform about 200 trillion actions at the same time.

'Conventional supercomputers with less interconnection mechanisms are less likely to respond to real-time human brain simulations. However, SpiNNaker is expected to be able to model larger neural networks in real time than any other supercomputer , 'said Professor Steve Furber.

In a period of only 500,000 microprocessors, the supercomputer modeled 80,000 neurons in the cortex, the brain region censoring data from the senses. Besides simulating basic lymph nodes, the brain region is affected by Parkinson's disease.

With all its might, SpiNNaker supercomputers are a big step forward in world medicine research. However, compared to the human brain, this supercomputer can only be simulated . 1% of the scale of the human brain.

However, SpiNNaker was able to simulate the functions of a mouse brain, 1000 times smaller than the human brain.
