Researchers have unveiled a new generation of batteries for mobile devices that can power both electric cars and batteries in seconds. To develop a new super capacitor, researchers used a two-dimensional carbon dioxide tablet, commonly known as graphene, and a third dimension thicker than an atom. Interestingly, the team found a way to produce new batteries easily using the technique of a standard DVD burner.

The old fashioned way to obtain micro-capacitance products has to do with slow-moving lithography. Instead, the team used the LightScribe DVD burner to create graphene for a large, low-cost supercap. With this new technology one can make more than 100 micro capacitors on a single disc in just 30 minutes and that is a cheap material.
