A team from the National Physical Laboratory used a technique called terahertz radiation spectrum.
This technique involves projecting a ray of terahertz - an electromagnetic radiation band located between infrared and infrared light - onto a fabric sample and detecting the characteristics of radiation after it passes through the fabric surface. .
Each fabric has a different level of dispersion and absorption of the radiation beam associated with it and gives it a distinct characteristic.
The researchers claim their technique distinguishes fabrics that look and feel the same, recognizing the difference between wool and merino wool, which are more expensive, as well as between natural silk and synthetic silk.
Tests by terahertz radiation spectroscopy technology for rapid, safe and reliable results.
