Innovative new fabrics from green tea and sugar mixes

A number of scientists at the Royal College of London have collaborated with fashion designers in the country to create fabrics made of tea, for use in the fashion industry.

If tea was previously known as a British favorite drink, it now has a rather unique role as the material for making clothing fabrics.

These materials have a surface that touches like a leather material but is very light. They have been used to make shirts, suits, skirts and even shoes.

Currently, along with the development of the fashion industry, clothing production is creating more pressure on traditional resources such as cotton, fleece . So the findings of this new fabric will become increasingly important.

The new fabric is formed by adding a mixture of green tea, sugar and some other nutrients to a large container for several days. Then, some bacteria are added to produce long cellulose fibers, which will combine into thin fabric mats and float on the surface of the solution.

The process from brewing the green tea mixture to the time of harvesting the product is a fabric that takes 2-3 weeks.

After being dried, the cloth mat is like leather and tough. You can hardly tear out parts of it. Then people will proceed to dye and style so that the fabric becomes more diverse.
