Telenor and Inmarsat provide mobile satellite services in Vietnam

Two telecom companies Telenor and Inmarsat have introduced mobile satellite services in Vietnam, to provide simultaneous high-speed voice and data transmission services.

The target of these two telecommunications companies is enterprises in the fields of finance, health, oil and gas, mining . Accordingly, the global broadband network BGAN (Broadband Global Area Network) will provide IP-based data and voice transmission services such as video streaming, video conferencing and web browsing, helping customers expand their operating areas to remote areas.

Mr. Rodolfo Ramirez - Asia Pacific Regional Director of Telenor Group said: "Telenor's target market in Vietnam is mobile service. Currently, to deploy mobile satellite service, We are cooperating with Vietnam Maritime Electronic Information Company Vishipel - as a service distribution partner in Vietnam ''.

Currently, Vishipel is providing the BGAN service that connects users' laptops to the Internet through a VPN virtual private network connection, allowing the establishment of a broadband mobile information office.

BGAN allows customers to send / receive email, access Internet at speeds up to 512kbps with only small, flexible, and easy to use devices. BGAN is also the first mobile service to meet the required data access speed.
