On the morning of February 27, two surgeries on cardiovascular intervention will be broadcast live to Singapore.
Through the videoconference, leading professors and doctors of Southeast Asia and the world follow up and discuss the optimal solutions for patients.
This activity is part of the Cardiovascular Intervention Workshop of Southeast Asia, held in Singapore.
Participating in the workshop, Vietnam Heart Institute will conduct cardiovascular intervention for 2 patients.
The first patient is a woman over the age of 40 who has very strict mitral stenosis. Due to prolonged illness, one side of the valve has calcified. This cardiovascular intervention will help patients extend their life for another 5-10 years. After that, if the family has conditions, it is possible to replace artificial valves for patients.
The second case is male patient, out of 60 years old with coronary artery disease. Previously, the patient had a cardiac intervention once due to a heart attack.
In addition to Vietnam, there are China and Thailand participating in cardiovascular interventions for patients and live television to the conference in Singapore .
According to Dr. Pham Manh Hung (Vietnam Heart Institute), cardiovascular intervention is a treatment that doctors do not need to operate on patients, just intervene in the part of skin disease. Heart problems that can interfere in this way are coronary heart disease, heart valve stenosis, congenital heart disease .
In the past, the new videoconference has been carried out among domestic hospitals to provide professional advice between central hospitals and lower hospitals. This is the first time, Vietnam has implemented television models to foreign countries.
