Terrible mass grave of 227 sacrificed children
Cruelly murdered on a massive ritual of sacrifice 1,400 years ago, the remains of 227 children between the ages of 4 and 14 have just been found in a mass grave in Pampa. La Cruz (Huanchaco town, Trujillo city, Peru) .
This is considered the largest child sacrifice ritual ever recorded when 227 children were killed at the same time. Some of the remains still have skin, hair and silver earrings.
Archeologists believe that children born in the Chimú Empire were forced to become scapegoats in a ritual aimed at preventing natural disasters related to the El Niño phenomenon.
