Thai Nguyen: Heavy rain, landslides cause 3 deaths
On the 4th and 5th of September, in 9 districts, cities and towns of Thai Nguyen province, there was heavy rain. The rainfall is above 100mm, some places are very high rainfall such as Phu Luong 286mm, Vo Nhai district 192mm, Pho Yen district 182mm, Dinh Hoa district 162mm.
Heavy rain caused 2 serious landslides in Dai Tu and Phu Luong districts, causing 3 deaths.
The first landslide occurred about 8 hours on September 5 in Tan Thai neighborhood, Tuc Tranh commune, Phu Luong district made Mr. Nguyen Van Chuong, born in 1963, died.
The victim's family said a large amount of land from the tea plantation had landed on a part of Chuong's family, at which time Chuong was near the area. People in the neighborhood have focused on digging and searching. About 30 minutes later, the victim's body was found.
The second landslide occurred at about 9.30 am on the same day in the area of Khuong Thong village, Phu Cuong commune, Dai Tu district, collapsing the mechanical workshop of Mr. Trinh Xuan Dinh.
Two people working in the workshop were buried, Mr. Dinh Van Quy, born in 1985 and Mr. Doan Thanh Long, born in 1982, are local people. The Phu Cuong commune government and the Steering Committee for Flood and Storm Control and Disaster Reduction of Dai Tu district mobilized forces to search and rescue the scene.
By 11 o'clock the same day, the bodies of the two victims were found. The initial reason was determined because the factory was located at the foot of the slope of a slope of over 10m, when the rain was prolonged, causing landslides and buried factories.
Currently local authorities where people in distress are still urgently troubleshooting. In the immediate future, Dai Tu and Phu Luong districts support each victim's family of VND 4.5 million.
Meanwhile, due to the influence of low pressure grooves compressed by cold air in the North, in the past two days in Lang Son, there was moderate rain, heavy rain caused damage to people and property.
Two people were killed by floods swept away by the stream on September 4 as Mr. Luan Van Sai, born in 1960, residing in Ban Nhang village, Phu My commune, Van Quan district and Mr. Hoang Van Kien, born in 1971 residing in Na Tong village, Tan Thanh commune, Van Lang district.
In addition, flood also makes a 3-storey house near collapse completely; five temporary houses collapsed; 168ha rice and 62ha crops flooded; about 2,700m 3 of land and rock were eroded by the national highway, estimated total damage of about 2.2 billion.
Lang Son Provincial Committee for Flood and Storm Prevention and Rescue has urged the District People's Committee, the Steering Committee for Flood and Storm Control and Search and Rescue in districts and cities to continue to monitor the situation of rain and flood. At the same time, synthesizing, statistics, assessing the situation of damage, organizing the overcoming of the consequences of early stabilization of production and life of people in the damaged areas.
