Unesco's Science, Education and Cultural Organization recognized Thanh Thanh Mountain and Do Giang Yen irrigation project as a World Cultural Heritage in 2000.

During the Sichuan earthquake on 12 May 2008, the Do Giang Yen irrigation system was almost undamaged, but some went to the Taoist church to be damaged. Shortly thereafter, the Sichuan Provincial Government gave corrections and repairs to preserve the value of this heritage.
