The 'green' charger is powered from the ground
South Korean scientists have introduced an environmentally-friendly electric tram that can automatically charge power directly from the rails.

In Seoul's south park, the OLEV tram carriage, consisting of three coaches, runs along the green border, below which the magnetic strips are buried, which is responsible for charging the car directly. The charging lines are designed in four segments on the 2.2km route, with a length of 400m.
The new science and technology institute of Korea (KAIST), the OLEV development agency, said the system consumes only one fifth of electricity compared to conventional electric vehicles. In addition, the OLEV does not rely on the heat-resistant rails used for trams or buses.
If the application is successful, the city government will deploy this "green" car system throughout the entire city, and then move on to the country.
"The potential of the application is unlimited, I'm sure this is the typical technology of the 21st century. We plan to introduce OLEV at the G20," said KAIST Director Suh Nam-Pyo . Seoul in November " .
