The amazing natural phenomenon of the

Moonlight part - astronomical phenomenon is considered the most noticeable in 2017 can be observed in Vietnam will take place on the night of the 7th and the morning of 8/8.

The above information was shared by Mr. Dang Vu Tuan Son, President of Vietnam Young Astronomical Society.

Accordingly, the region that fully observes the partial eclipse in August is the majority of Asia (including Vietnam), the east coast of Africa and most of Oceania. The rest of Asia, Africa and all of Europe can observe part of this phenomenon.

Mr. Son said, in Vietnam time, the partial eclipse will take place according to the specific schedule of about 22:50 minutes of the 7/8 half-moon period beginning; 00 hours 22 minutes on 8/8, partial eclipse begins; 1 hour 20 minutes on 8/8, maximum eclipse reached; 2 hours 18 minutes on 8/8. At this time, a part of the moon will turn to crimson, the partial eclipse will end and 3 hours 50 minutes on August 8, the half-moon eclipse will end.

According to the above period, this phenomenon falls in the middle of the night . At half-moon eclipse, the Moon went into the half-dark shadow of the Earth so it was very bright, only a little dark and may be light red. In the partial phase, the Moon begins to enter the complete darkness of the Earth and the part that enters that region turns red and very dark compared to the rest. Partial phase is the most remarkable stage when observing this phenomenon.

Still according to expert Dang Vu Tuan Son, observers can use the naked eye to monitor the phenomenon. However, if there is a small telescope or binoculars or camera lens with high optical magnification (over 10x) will be a better support for observation.

Besides, observers should pay attention to weather conditions (no rain or cloud cover) to decide whether to stay up and watch this phenomenon.

A full moon or full moon is a normal astronomical phenomenon when the moon enters the shadow region of the Earth and obscures the source of sunlight. Red as the moon's blood is due to the light from the moon's surface being refracted when it passes through the earth's atmosphere and turns bright red through the human eye (like a mechanism that dyes the sky when dawn and sunset).
