Preparing for the last remarkable astronomical event of the year, astronomical clubs in three regions were ready for the means and location for observing lunar eclipses, planets and stars tonight.

HAAC will bring the club's largest telescope - Celestron 11, to observe the lunar eclipse, often referred to in a folk way as the "moon-eating bear" . The 279mm diameter glass can help observe well the nebula and planets in the solar system.

According to Dang Tuan Duy, Chairman of HAAC, the club will explain the process, including the partial, total and maximal stages. This makes it easier for observers to explore the sky, determine the direction with star clusters and how to use the spinning star map.

In Hanoi, the astronomical club will organize observations of filming and photographing the moon during the eclipse through telescopes, performing water rocket fire, astronomical films.

"The equipment used is mostly telescopes made by members of the investment and manufacturing association. In addition, the program will hold a small forum in place to introduce, present, discuss and give exchanging knowledge about astronomy " , Truong Ngoc Khanh, chairman of Hanoi Astronomical Association, said.

The full moon will begin at 21:06, at which point the whole moon will turn red. The real moon reaches its maximum at 21h33, when the moon is the darkest red.

This year, there were two occurrences of total lunar eclipse, the last on June 6, the longest lunar eclipse of the century. But this is the most favorable observation.
