The ancient palace aroused the legend of Rome
Legend has it that Rome was founded in 753 BC, founded by Romulus and Remus, two twin boys of Mars war god. At birth, the two brothers were fed by a wolf in the deep forest.

Archaeologists now believe that they have found evidence that at least the time in that legend is true: The footprint of a newly discovered royal palace in Roman square is determined to be aged. great coincides with the time when the immortal city was formed.
Andrea Carandini, archeology professor at Sapienza University, has conducted excavations in the square for more than 20 years. He said he found the project last month at the point where the temple Romulus stands today. It is located next to the Shrine of Vesta - the goddess of the family - outside the Palatine citadel, where the first trace of civilization is in Rome.
Where archaeologists once found only slums from the 8th century BC, Carandini and her team have unearthed the trail of a magnificent building: a large palace 344 m2, using area is 105 m2, the rest is yard. There is also a city gate, sophisticated decorations and many pottery items.
The walls are made of wood and clay, the floor is made of wood and compressed soil. Archaeologists have tested the clay and found the age of the work. According to Carandini, the building has a vast space, never before seen. " That can only be a royal palace ," he said.
He also added that at that time, an average residence was only one-tenth the size of this area. He also found a house that could be a place where virgins lit sacred flames.
Eugenio La Rocca, who oversees buildings in Rome, remarks that Carandini's explanation is correct.
" I think what Carandini found from excavations is very reasonable, " La Rocca said. " Anyone who creates this legend knows that behind it is a historical foundation. It does not necessarily mean that the story of Romulus and Remus has happened so, but that means that memories are passing on Latin authors is not just a hypothesis ".
According to the legend of Rome, the king of Numitor was seized by his younger brother and his daughter Rhea Silvia was forced to become a virgin so she could not have a baby. But Rhea Silvia was pregnant with her son Mars. When the young couple was discovered, the princess was imprisoned and the children were left in a basket floating in the Tiber River. Fortunately, the two brothers came to live and were fed by a wolf until they were carried by a shepherd.
Upon learning of his past story, the two brothers killed the usurper Amulus, restored the throne to Numitor and returned to the place where the wolf was raised to build a city.
The image of two naked face-to-face babies drinking milk from a wolf has become a topic throughout Roman art, and sculptures illustrating this legend all appear in regional museums.
