The Avatar Project
The US military is researching the project to allow brainwashed soldiers to control their bots to take over their positions on the battlefield as in Avatar.
The United States Agency for Advanced Defense Research Projects (Darpa) has set aside $ 7 million in its 2013 budget for a project called Avatar , according to Wired News .
In the blockbuster movie of the same name by James Cameron, soldiers use their brains to manipulate the human body between aliens and humans as they wage war against the inhabitants of a distant planet.
Darpa set an ambitious goal in Avatar
The ultimate goal for the Avatar project is to find the most effective approach to the scenario in the science fiction film.
The budget for Darpa's next year states: 'The Avatar program will develop interfaces and algorithms that will enable an effective soldier to pair with a semi-automatic machine moving on two legs, and transform this robot the body of the soldier.
The report also required the robots to do everything in their control, ranging from room cleaning to combat.
It is not yet known which Darpa will use the technology to achieve this ambitious goal, but the report highlights the remarkable advances in remote control technology using a ground-based system.
