"Shelters will help astronauts avoid the impact of cosmic radiation and meteorites, and may allow access to frozen water that is believed to be hidden under the surface of the satellite."

Currently, ESA is calling for ideas from the community to explore this area. They wanted to have a practical way to locate them more easily, and at the same time allow communication from the bottom of the cave to the ground and spread to Earth without obstruction.

"The ideas can be based on an autonomous robot system, or a satellite, or a combination of both," said Loredana Bessone, who came up with the idea.
