The computer industry 'disappointed with Vista'
Acer became the first PC maker to publicly criticize the operating system launched six months ago by Microsoft as "immature and unstable".
Acer president Gianfranco Lanci said Windows Vista contained too many defects and was not enough to convince users and businesses to upgrade computers.
The world's fourth-largest PC maker after HP, Dell and Lenovo said that Vista had the lowest impact on PC sales compared to other Windows releases. This situation will not change much in the next 6 months.
Last time, Vista was constantly criticized for its slow operation, high configuration requirements, but did not support many important applications. Meanwhile, Microsoft claims Vista has achieved "great success" with 20 million copies sold as of March. Last week, the company also confirmed that most users are satisfied with the new operating system and profitability. Their second quarter increased by 13% compared to last year thanks to Vista.
However, Chief Financial Officer Chris Liddell of the US software group predicted that the XP version would account for 22% of Windows sales, while Vista kept the remaining 78%, while Microsoft earlier said that XP would account for only 15% .
