The Covid-19 vaccine is ready for testing, not yet available
An American company has successfully developed a Covid-19 vaccine, which can be tested on humans in the next 2 weeks, but may wait for many more months to reach the market.
Moderna, a Massachusetts-based biotechnology and pharmaceutical company, has become one of the first units to develop the SARS-CoV-2 vaccine . They will send samples to the National Institutes of Health for human trials before mass production.

According to CNBC, this information was disclosed by US health officials during a government hearing on March 12. Initially, many experts thought that it was not timely to develop the vaccine before the summer, but the process was speeded up than expected.
"We said it would take another 2-3 months for the first human vaccine to be used," Dr. Anthony Fauci, the US National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, told lawmakers. "I think we will do better than that. I hope in the next few weeks we can begin human trials."
This is good news as Covid-19 was spreading globally, but there were still many unanswered questions. Even in human trials, we have to wait for the vaccine to prove its effectiveness in preventing infection with the new strain of coronavirus, if any, to what extent is its protection.
"I want to make sure everyone understands, I have said it many times, that does not mean we have a vaccine to be used immediately," Dr Anthony Fauci added. "We want to say that this is a record time of rapid growth. It will take another 1-1.5 years to really know if it works or not."
According to BGR, even in the best case of a safe vaccine, it works well for the prevention of viruses, large-scale production and delivery to health facilities is unlikely to occur in 18 months. longer, or even longer.
Moderna is not alone in developing the SARS-CoV-2 vaccine. Other biotechnology companies have also been successful in the research process, promising results soon. However, each vaccine must undergo many further development steps before it is put into use.
