The difference between astronomy and astrology

Astrology is a science of imitation, assuming that the position of celestial bodies affects human life as well as events on earth.

Astrology is a science of imitation, assuming that the position of celestial bodies affects human life as well as events on earth.

A long time ago, astronomy and astrology were considered one. People study the motion of planets and hope through that movement so that not only predicts the "will" of the gods, but also predicts war, disaster, throne and abdication of the king as well as many problems related to the other physical world on earth. However, around the time of Johannes Kepler, Galileo Galilei and Isaac Newton, astronomers realized astrology was essentially inaccurate. Also from this moment, the main task of an astronomer is to rely on physics to study the phenomena that are happening in the sky.

Astronomy is based on physics to study the phenomena that are happening in the sky.

However, there are some people who are attached to astrology. Astrologers use computer programs to find planets (this way inadvertently uses research results from real scientists), and they don't use telescopes or learn about stars, planets and galaxies . like astronomers - if possible, for entertainment.

Astrology provides anecdotal evidence to prove its accuracy.

Astrology uses many real science-like tools, such as math, complex diagrams and specialized vocabulary, but astrologers do not follow the scientific method. While scientists actually conduct careful measurements in strictly controlled studies, astrologers do not do experiments to prove their theory.Instead, they provideanecdotal evidence- stories told to prove the accuracy of astrology.Anecdotal evidence is not accepted in real science because all negative experiences are easily overlooked, and people are not good at recalling and accurately recounting their experiences.

Don't see an astronomer like an astrologer!
