The discovery of Sa Huynh pottery dating back to 3,000 years

Quang Ngai Museum staff has just discovered thousands of household ceramic fragments: pot of earth, vase, bowl, lamp . after more than two weeks of digging 10 archaeological exploration holes at the location of Ma Vuong Go in Duc Pho district.

The command of the excavation of Quang Ngai Museum staff, Dr. Doan Ngoc Khoi said: "Many evidence that these artifacts are Sa Huynh pottery dating back 3,000 years".

According to Dr. Khoi, while excavating archaeological exploration of reconnaissance pits, the archaeological group found the characteristic Linga of ceramic material. In 1978, in this place, during the excavation, archaeologists also discovered pottery Linga and collections of stone tools, including many stone (stone axes) intact.

"Structure of stone clusters, vestiges of grave graves . clearly prove that the residence space of the former Sa Huynh inhabitants once lived here," Mr. Khoi affirmed.

After digging and exploring 10 pits in Go Ma Vuong, Quang Ngai General Museum proposed the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to allow further excavation to embellish and implement a museum construction project. It is expected that these artifacts will be displayed outdoors, linked to Sa Huynh marine eco-tour, the journey 'According to Dang Thuy Tram's Japanese line' to serve tourists.

Ma Vuong Go (also known as Ma Vuong hill, Chicken mound) is a place with many valuable archaeological sites, discovered and excavated since 1909, many times excavated in 1923, 1939 , 1977, 1978.
