The fish community is forgotten in the deep sea

Scientists have long underestimated the number of fish in the ocean, after discovering that most of the inhabitants of the ocean remained calmly in deep water.

Researchers from the University of Western Australia (Australia) discovered, the fish in the medium deep sea, from 100 - 1,000m from the water, accounting for 95% of the biomass of the sea and still escape the hunting range catch of fishermen.

They said their secret to success could lie in their ability to avoid fishing nets.

The expert group also said that fish in the deep sea has 10 to 30 times greater biomass than previously estimated.

Professor Carlos Duarte of the University of Western Australia said that the new discovery could completely change people's understanding of the activity of the oceans.

'Since the volume of fish is so large, this means that the sea floor must play a more important role in the function of the sea and affect carbon flow and oxygen in the ocean' , according to Phys.Org. Professor Duarte.
