The Forbidden City has a place that is cold all year round

Historically, China has experienced feudal society for more than 2000 years. During this period, the world was ruled by the emperor, and the class system was quite tight. This is likened to the pinnacle of the power system. The emperor had his own standards and requirements for food, clothing, housing, and transportation, and no one was allowed to be on the same level as the heavenly son.

Under this system, the emperor's residence was naturally extremely luxurious. The Forbidden City in Beijing is one of the buildings symbolizing the status of the royal family. This is a work with massive and majestic palaces, which best reflects the luxurious life of the emperors in the past.

In the Forbidden City, there are dozens of palaces and countless rooms. One of the lesser known places is Duong Duong Tam Palace. This used to be the place where the emperor took care of memorials and rest. But later, the maintenance staff of the Forbidden City encountered a strange and extremely scared thing.

Since then, Duong Tam Palace has been closed, visitors cannot set foot in this mysterious place.

Duong Tam Palace is located to the west of Can Thanh Palace. Although this area is smaller than the rest, the furniture inside is very complete.

However, there is one special thing: Duong Tam Palace is the only place, whether it is a cold winter or a scorching summer, every time people step in, people feel very cold. Why was the room to rest in the Forbidden City so damp and cold?

This has caused scientists to "rub their heads and scratch their ears". After the superiors learned about the incident, the management immediately invited a famous local architectural expert to investigate.

The Temple of Nursing is always damp and cold.

When experts arrived on the scene, they surveyed with sophisticated instruments and found that the floor was the coldest. This is probably the source of the cold in the Temple of Nursing. These people decided to dig up the floor.

Everyone was shocked by the scene in front of them: It turned out that there was no loess below, only tangled pipes. There is still a lot of underground water in the pipeline, which continuously gives off steam due to evaporation, causing the inside of this area to exude a gloomy, cold atmosphere.

Then, from the available documents combined with reality, experts concluded that this could be a heating device created by the ancients used for the summer. However, over time, no one treats these pipes, leading to a large amount of groundwater accumulating inside and causing the cold phenomenon as people say.

As for the closure of Duong Tam Palace, the professional agency explained that this was to protect cultural relics.

In recent years, the Forbidden City has been opened to tourists. It is therefore inevitable that some palaces will be accidentally damaged by tourists. In order to protect the relics left in the Palace, the management was forced to close the doors to prevent curious visitors from causing damage during the visit.
