The invention keeps the phone soaked in water and remains dry

After spraying a super hydrophobic compound created by American scientists, a phone can soak up freely in the water and then pick it up and remain dry and work properly.

This hydrophobic spray compound does not allow water particles to reach the surface of devices such as mobile phones. The chairman of Ross Nanotechnology Company Andy Joness said that the composition of this magic spray compound is being kept strictly confidential. He only revealed that the compound has such amazing properties because it contains nanoparticles of nearly 20 nanometers in size at high density.

When coated on any surface, the nanoparticles themselves form a complex structure capable of hydrophobic, meaning that the device is coated with this compound that cannot be wet. This is not only effective with clean water but also with viscous substances such as syrup or lubricant.

Performing his invention, Joness dipped his smartphone into the bowl of water for half an hour, then picked it up and the device was still dry and working properly. Of course, this phone has been sprayed with hydrophobic compounds to the surface. In addition to water protection for devices, this compound called NeverWet (never wet) is also capable of fighting invading bacteria.

Temporarily, there is no information about the time to commercialize the solution, according to Wired. Ross Tecnology is at the stage of negotiating conditions with interested manufacturers.

Note, the same water-resistant qualities are currently only available for water-resistant products like Casio G-Shock watches. However, in addition to water resistance, products like Casio G-Shock also have high durability that nano spray does not create.
