The lake at a height of nearly 2,000 meters in the Alps disappeared

Experts identify Lago Azzurro lake can dry up due to hot summer and less rain in Italy.

Photographer Marco Pugliese captures the scene of Lago Azzurro lake , also known as Lake Blue, completely changed after a year, Strange Sounds on October 27 reported. This lake is located at an altitude of 1,853 meters in the Alps, Sondrio province, Italy.

In last year's photo, Lago Azzurro is a beautiful lake with a clear lake surface. There are hundreds of year-old pine trees with bright yellow leaves imprinted on the water. However, the new image shows that the lake has dried up, leaving only soil and stone bare.

"Maybe it's time to think about not wasting water. I feel bad after seeing the state of Lago Azzurro Lake , " Pugliese said.

The exact cause has not been published. However, scientists believe that the hot weather and the low summer record this summer caused the lake to disappear. Photography on the lake bottom also helps experts to see if there are grooves, cracks or holes formed in the summer.

This is not the first time Lago Azzurro has met this situation. The lake also disappeared in 2005 and 2006. At that time, environmentalists feared it would disappear forever. However, after being artificially filled, Lago Azzurro begins to recover naturally with water from the flowing streams.
