After scooping all the sand and gravel out of the hole, the archaeological team continued to find 8 concave plots divided into 8 directions, located at 4 corners and edges. In each concave cell, a square brick is placed on a round pebble stone. In the middle of the pit there was a row of pebbles and quartz arranged in a semicircle.
Mr. Thang and his colleagues predict that this series of pebbles was previously built in a circle but due to various reasons, so far deformed."According to the beliefs of the Cham people, there are 8 gods in 8 directions, so it is possible that this is a spiritual belief that speaks to guard gods , " Thang said.
Regarding the scale of the newly discovered architecture, the archaeological delegation stated that this is likely the foundation of a Cham tower architecture as many excavations earlier. However, according to Mr. Thang, if based on such a massive foundation, there used to be a huge Cham tower, it can be said to be the largest tower ever, showing the existence of a center. Cham religion since the 12th century.
Cham Pa temple temple is located in Phong Le village (Hoa Tho Dong ward, Cam Le ward, Da Nang city) excavated in mid-2011, in order to serve the conservation, education and tourism. Here, archaeologists discovered a large area of Cham Pa temple temple about 1,000 years ago.
Experts are continuing to decipher the artifacts found to plan for further excavations.
